This was a book club book and I have to say it was my favorite of all the ones we have read, not sure if that's a complement or not as the others were really really not my fave. However, I did find the characters extremely relate-able and the story pretty true to real life. I did get confused a bit as the story seems to be written like a journal at times with comments like "I would find that would later," thrown in there. I totally get the whole just saying you are pregnant thing even if your not (due to weight issues) and I think it's awesome that other people get that. We all want to be better us-es and that's what this book is about.

A fun note with this is that I took this to an event I was going to (lesson from my parents: never leave home without a book) and a woman who is currently fighting breast cancer saw the title of the book and took a picture of me with it since she's coming to grips with being beautiful even while going through chemo and radiation. So there is some inspiration there.

Charlotte, owns a bridal store, is engages to be married. This engagements falls aparts after she buys a trunk at an auction. Once she opens the trunk and finds a perfect wedding dress that is over 100 years old. This is the dresses story and 2 of the 4 women who wore it.

Wish You Were Here by Beth K Vogt

This was a book I could not put done.

If I had thought about it enough I knew how I thought it would end but that dind't stop me from reading it in less than 2 days.

The main character kisses her future brother in law a few days before her wedding, this leads to her leaving her finance at the alter and running away.

The book is what happens to her following this.

Does Seth (her finance) forgive her?
Does she run away?
Are there Llama's in this book?
Are there more than one medical accidents is this book?
Who is Bisquick?

So many good questions and for the most part a great story, would I change a few things? Yes. Will it stop me from reading her next book? NO!

Missing by Shelley Shepard Gray

Shelley did a great job on this book of how a murder can effect a small town.

Abby and some 'friends' are out smoking in the woods and find Perry's body. Everyone thought Perry had left town.

The sheriff invites his friend,who is on medical leave to come help investigate the murder, as you would expect no one has much to say.

Then is love in the air for Abby's brother Walker? You will need to read and find out.

A few other twists that I didn't see coming but make you wish the next book was already out.

Everyone is Beautiful - Katherine Center

This was my book club book for the month. I probably would of picked it up and read it anyway as it had a cupcake on the cover. I liked the fact that the cast was characters were small and so I could keep track of who everyone was. Peter and Elena move from Houston and start life over without knowing anyone. They have 3 boys and Peter works from home composing music. We learn about the people in their highrise and an old friend of Elana's. Elena learns to carve time out for herself and there are a few funny moments in this book but Katherine just really didn't make the characters come alive to me and therefore I didn't care how it ended. I was hoping for a better read.

Midnight Promises by Sherryl Woods
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love this Sweet Magnolia series. I forget how much till the next book comes along and then I can't put it down till I have finished it and then i am sad that I am done.

This is the story of Karen and Elliot and how no matter how much you love each other you must work at marriage.

Karen came into this marriage with 2 children and although their 'real dad' is not in the picture Karen is afraid to let Elliot adopt them. Then there is Elliott and the other 'men' who want to open a men's gym and Elliott being the man keeps things from Karen.

But the best part is catching up with everyone from the last 7 books. Although I think Sherryl did us an injustice by not doing a mini book about the Vegas trip and just kind of throwing it in at the end.

Very excited to hear we have more books coming.

The Lying Game by Sara Shepard

So I picked up this book because I LOVED the tv series on ABC family and was unsure whether or not it was going to be renewed and I wanted to know what happened. Well joke's on me, the book and the series are so different I have decided the series is strictly paying to use the characters names and that's it. Once I got over the shock of how different it was I was able to get through it (and by that I mean I read it in under 24 hours). Can definitely tell it's a YA book due to language and structure. Really did not find the characters as likeable as I wanted and the plot had a lot of turns it was sometimes hard to follow. The book is narrated by a ghost but sometimes it's written in third person so I got overly confused. It was okay overall, no answers were given in the book so I guess it's on to book 2 me. Rating: 3 out of 5 stars
